The chain of Shaw’s retail stores is utilizing the Christie MicroTile video display units in several of its stores to help promote its merchandise and provide a compelling reason for customers to enter into the stores.
Shaw’s is using 24 Christie Digital’s MicroTiles in a waterfall arrangement in a Calgary, Alberta, Canada store location. Great response has hastened the use of more installations at several other Shaw stores and more planned for the future.
Christie MicroTiles combine proven DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology with LED reliability for an audio-visual solution with tremendous image quality in indoor environments. These MicroTiles can be used in a wide variety of applications, including event production, command and control video walls, architectural designs, large-scale advertising and much more. Rather than have all 24 MicroTiles depicting one piece of content simultaneously, Ferguson Shaw’s retail team worked with Christie for a waterfall effect, staggering the tiles with gaps along the X Y and Z access. The store displayed video content of new products and services, new market offers and community initiatives on the MicroTiles. Each video content piece appeared to cascade across all 24 tiles, before moving back into one tile. People walking past the stores were amazed at the audio-visual display.
