Large-screen LCD digital displays are expected to gain even more presence across venues in 2014.
In fact, electronics analysts DisplaySearch predicts a 5% increase in 2014 for the large-screen (58-inches and above) LCD display market. This sales growth is expected to come from increases in manufacturing capacity, improvements in display process, and lower prices. As a result, more manufacturers are finding new markets for these amazing audio-visual solutions.
NEC Display Solutions recently announced upgrades to its P Series (professional large screen displays). These new large screen monitors (in sizes 44”, 46”, 55” and 70”) are LED edge-lit, resulting in displays that are thinner, lighter and less power-hungry. According to NEC’s press release for the P Series, these 3rd generation displays are 56 percent thinner, 50 percent lighter and consume up to 33 percent less power. That translates into lower installation costs and total cost of ownership.
The P Series LCD screens have great image quality, and are expected to work well in quick-service restaurants, airports, public information areas, healthcare facilities and retail stores. NEC also includes a built-in NFC sensor, which works with NEC’s new Android app to reduce installation and maintenance costs. Other features include better browser controls, allowing users to control the display through a tablet or LAN.
