NEC Displays Announces $25K Award towards Tech Makeovers for K-12 schools

CCS Presentation Systems manufacturing partner NEC Display Solutions of America has launched a competition for schools to show their needs for new digital audio-visual solutions, and get a chance to win $25,000 in display and projection technologies.

It’s the Tech Makeover contest, in which schools across the US can submit their application for a tech makeover for new digital displays and digital projectors. The video application process is underway through May 6, 2014.

NEC judges will vote on the most well-thought out applications and post them online for public voting. The most voted-for video from the school applicants will win $25,000 in NEC Display products.

Today’s K12 schools have the most technology hungry students, and yet, budget constraints have limited the opportunity for schools to expand their digital audio-visual solutions equipment.

Resellers like CCS Presentation Systems are involved in the program, too. According to Digital Signage Today, NEC Display plans to offer a $2,000 scholarship for every $50,000 in NEC products, including lamps and accessories, bought by a school from a single reseller, The promotion runs through June 30, 2014, at which point scholarship checks will be announced and fulfilled. To participate in the scholarship program, schools must be registered in NEC’s Star Student Program.
