AVC Video Stream Capability with Crestron Matrix Switchers

The two most common standards for video streaming in the professional audio-video industry are H.264 and MJPEG. CCS Presentation Systems partner Crestron is now offering that H.264 streaming capability (also known as AVC, for Advanced Video Coding) with a card-based matrix switcher.

Crestron recently introduced its DMCO 7-Series output cards. Now, notes Crestron, audio-video solutions dealers can stream 1080p video content directly to computers and Crestron touchscreens, using its DM series matrix switchers. Crestron’s Touch Screens have supported MJPEG streaming for several years already, and now have advanced to include H.264 streams now, too.

This means that teachers in schools, presenters in auditoriums and entertainers on stage can now offer video capabilities to their audiences with this option. Crestron notes that its output cards used with its modular matrix switchers help to add more technology choices for customers and end users. The technology allows the cards to combine two video signals over the same stream to give users by-picture and in-picture functionality.

CCS Presentation Systems is happy to offer our customers these technology-enhanced audio-visual solutions from Crestron. Its control and automation products and A/V signal distribution is well-known through the professional AV industry.
