Sandhills Publishing

The Sandhills Publishing Cyber Center was the latest and most integrated of the (3) buildings CCS has completed.

In the two-room divide/combine training rooms, CCS installed 5500 lumen WUXGA Epson projectors mounted inside projector lifts, allowing the projectors to be concealed
when not in use. CCS also provided 137” diagonal Da-Lite recessed electric screens. Each room features an HDMI and VGA+Audio wall plate and a Kramer Via Connect Pro for
wireless presentation.

The audio system consists of (9) in-ceiling speakers in each room for sound reproduction and reinforcement. CCS also provided a wireless handheld and a wireless lavalier
microphone for each room.

The control system consists of an Extron media presentation switcher for source routing. In each room, a 10” Extron touch panel was installed. The touch panel controls projector
power, projector lift raise/lower, projection screen raises/lower, source selection, microphone volume, and overall room volume. In addition, the touch panels allow for room
configuration setup when rooms are to be combined.

Services Group

Services Group of America wanted to seamlessly incorporate technology into its new corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ.

Project Description

“The literal centerpiece of SGA Corporate Center’s high-end conference room is its pentagonal plasma video display system, weighing nearly 1 ton. A major challenge was designing a structurally sound and maintenance-friendly lift mechanism that doesn’t intrude on the room’s sight lines or elegant aesthetics. Dominating the space is the conference table, a massive wooden structure measuring 40ft. across and seating 32. The idea was to seamlessly incorporate technology that would enable everything from local PowerPoint presentations to company-wide video conferences. Another key requirement for the room was for the conference table to provide an uncluttered look, while still providing laptop connectivity and voice pickup of meeting participants.”

NEW ENGLAND AQUARIUM & IMAX THEATRE

Boston, MA

UPGRADE THE AUDIO AND VIDEO SYSTEM IN THE MARINE MAMMAL CENTER AT THE NEW ENGLAND AQUARIUM.

The New England Aquarium is a global leader in ocean exploration and marine conservation. With more than 1.3 million visitors a year, the Aquarium is one of the premier visitor attractions in Boston and a major public education resource for the region.

CCS Presentation Systems was hired at the start of 2016 to help with audio and video enhancements for the aquarium’s New Balance Foundation Marine Mammal Center, Simons IMAX Theater, and Main Building’s public address (PA) system.

While discussing the objectives for the recent renovations, Robert Loyot, director of information technology, said, “Over the last year I tasked CCS with the job of overhauling three significant audiovisual systems at the NEAQ. The CCS team faced several challenges associated with these projects. As one might expect, these systems had been through various upgrades and enhancements over their respective lifecycles, and CCS had to do quite a bit of homework in order to safely decommission, gather proper updated requirements, design, and finally, deploy new systems. All three projects were total successes and the many stakeholders that were touched by this work were completely satisfied. CCS is my go-to AV integrator at this point.”

The Marine Mammal Center’s goal was to update the audio and video system. “The MMC team was looking for new functionality from their system to improve their interaction with the audience,” said Craig Wiley, CCS’s technical operations manager. “They also aspired to be ready for a more interactive experience with potential ‘virtual’ attend-ees in the future. With this in mind, we chose products that were the most flexible, as unforeseen system needs were bound to happen.”

To accomplish this, CCS began with troubleshooting the existing systems and interviewing the folks working in the area to understand their needs. The devised plan for system upgrades began with rebuilding and updating the aquarium’s existing equipment rack for ease of use, followed with improved quality of audio for the Marine Mammal trainers and presenters.
